Hon. Alhassan Fuseini (Bagaman), the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Savelugu, this morning led officials of the Savelugu Municipal Assembly, assembly staff, opinion leaders, market women, youth groups, and members of the community to actively observe and participate in the National Two-Day Clean-Up Exercise at the Savelugu Central Market.
The exercise forms part of the Government’s nationwide initiative to promote environmental cleanliness, improve public health, and foster a culture of collective responsibility among citizens. Participants engaged in sweeping, desilting choked drains, clearing refuse, and cleaning the market environment to ensure a healthier and safer trading space.
Addressing the participants, Hon. Alhassan Fuseini (Bagaman) commended the enthusiasm and commitment shown by residents and emphasised that environmental sanitation is a shared responsibility that requires continuous community participation. He urged residents, traders, and all stakeholders to maintain the cleanliness of the market and dispose of waste responsibly to sustain the gains achieved through the exercise.
The MCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to creating a clean, healthy, and attractive municipality, stressing that sanitation remains a key priority in improving the well-being of the people of Savelugu.
Hon. Bagaman expressed his appreciation to all stakeholders, security services, sanitation workers, assembly members, volunteers, and residents who participated in making the exercise a success. He encouraged everyone to continue supporting initiatives that contribute to the development and beautification of the Savelugu Municipality.
