The Savelugu Municipal Assambly has supported 56 persons with Disabilities with cash to make them more self-sufficient and improve their living standards.
In a short ceremony held at the Assambly today, 19th February 2026, the Municipal Cheif Excutive Hon Alhassan Fuseini disclosed that the Assambly is distributing an amount of Ghc97,000 to the beneficies.
Thirty-nine (39) PWDs received Ghc2,000 to expand or stabilise their small business and 16 of them received Ghc1,500 as a start -up capital to sustain their soap making business.
He said, “this intervention is deliberately designed to promote economic independence and dignity among PWDs.
Beyond livehood support, the Assambly also extended critical assistance in the area of health by supporting Nashiru Sulemana, an eight year old physically challenged child with Ghc4,500 to enable his parents seek therapy and medical care at the Walewale Orthopedic Centre with the ultimate aim of helping him walk.
Hon Fuseini urged the beneficies to make judicious use of the support provided to improve their livelihoods and create additional economic opportunities for local economic development.
